Bulletin Inserts Promote Henry Opukaha'ia Scholarship

The Stewardship Missional Team has created a bulletin insert to help churches promote the Henry Opukaha'ia scholarship fund, which supports continuing education for clergy and seminary study for ministerial candidates.  Learn more and download scholarship applications from the Conference website.
 

Clergy Discuss World Religions at Annual Retreat

Volunteers Needed for Homeless Census

The Institute for Human Services (IHS) is looking for volunteers for its “Point in Time Count” to help collect information from the homeless population on O'ahu.  Volunteers who are at least 18 years old are needed from January 26 to 30 and must participate in an orientation.  For more information and to volunteer, call IHS at 808-447-2810 or send email to volunteer@ihs-hawaii.org.

AHEC to Install Waiola Minister

The Association of Hawaiian Evangelical Churches (AHEC), during its 'Aha Halawai, will install Jeffery Crews as Pastor of Waiola Church.  The service of installation will take place on Saturday, February 21, 10:30 a.m. at the church (535 Waine'e St., Lahaina).
 

O'ahu Association Convenes Ecclesiastical Council

The O'ahu Association will convene an ecclesiastical council on Sunday, February 22, 4 p.m., at Windward United Church of Christ (38 Kaneohe Bay Drive, Kailua), for the purpose of examining Josh Hayashi for ordination.  To ensure quorum, churches are asked to indicate whether they will attend or not by emailing dweible@hcucc.org or calling 808-791-5633.  Click HERE for more information and to download his ordination paper.

Hanapepe United Church of Christ (Kaumuali'i Highway at Kona Road) was recently featured in an article in The Garden Island newspaper about its upcoming 125th anniversary year kick-off to be held Saturday, January 24, 5:30 p.m., at the church.
