Conference Office Closed on Labor Day

The Hawai'i Conference Office will be closed next Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day, and will reopen on Tuesday, September 2.

Register Now for Fall Youth Camp

Information and registration forms for the Hawai'i Conference Fall Youth Camp were mailed to churches last week.  Camp will be held from Sunday, October 5, to Wednesday, October 8, at Camp Erdman on the North Shore of O'ahu.  A limited number of spaces are available, so register early. 

United Church Funds Hosts Investor Workshop

United Church Funds (UCF) hosts a day-long Western Regional Endowment Conference in Long Beach, California, on November 8.  Panel discussions, plenary sessions and workshops will address building or growing investments.  Visit the UCF website for more information and registration.

Give Aloha in September

NIN Grant Deadline Approaches

Justice and Witness Ministries awards Neighbors in Need (NIN) grants to churches and organizations doing justice work in their communities, including direct services, community organizing, advocacy and addressing systemic injustice.  Funding is provided through donations to the NIN offering.  The next application deadline is September 30.

Churches Share Perspectives on Fossil Fuel Divestment

Learn what denominations, regionally and worldwide, are doing around fossil fuel divestment in a webinar sponsored  by Creation Justice.  "Fossil Fuel Divestment & Faith" will be offered on Wednesday, September 10,  at 10 a.m. (Hawai'i time), and will feature perspectives from the United Church of Christ, Presbyterian Church (USA), and the United Methodist Church.  To register, click HERE.


Participate in Waineke Cabins Work Day

You can recycle your eWaste—computers, monitors, laptops, printers, fax machines and phones—at Central Union Church (1600 South Beretania Street, Honolulu) on Saturday, September 27, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lana'i Union Call Pastor

Sarah Rentzel Jones began as Pastor of Lana'i Union Church on August 24.  She most recently served as Pastor of St. Peter’s UCC in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania.

Pearl City Pastor to Be Installed

The O'ahu Association will install Phil Reller as Pastor of Pearl City Community Church (933 Lehua Avenue, Pearl City) on Sunday, September 7, at 3 p.m.
