Worship Service Features UCC Leader

John Dorhauer, UCC General Minister and President, will be the preacher at a community-wide worship service this Sunday, September 25, 4 p.m., at Central Union Church (1660 South Beretania Street, Honolulu).  All are invited to this service, which will include choirs from local churches, affirmation of the Rev. Dorhauer’s installation, and Holy Communion.

Clergy Invited to Apply for Week-long Chaplaincy

The Chautauqua United Church of Christ Society is seeking nine UCC clergy to serve as Chaplain of the Week during the summer of 2017.  Information and applications can be found at www.cuccs.org.  Deadline to apply is November 30.

Workshop Helps Churches Support Mission

Learn how church buildings can support mission, and not the other way around, in a workshop offered by the Episcopal Church Building Fund.  “Jumpstart!” part of the Equipping Tomorrow’s Church Leaders program of the Tri-Isle Association, will be offered over two weekends:  October 21, 5:30 p.m.; October 22, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; October 28, 5:30 p.m.; and October 29; 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., all at Wailuku Union Church (327 South High Street, Wailuku).  Registration fee of $40 includes meals.  For information, call 703-981-8666 or email annewongtroy@gmail.com.
 

Symposium Examines Jazz in Worship

Memorial Service for Dana Ka'ohelauli'i

Dana Ka'ohelauli'i, 64, died September 10 at Straub Hospital after long illness.  Dana was licensed minister of Ohana Ni'ihau O Waimea Church on Kaua'i.  A memorial service will be held this Saturday, September 24, 9 a.m., at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel (2-3780 B Kaumualii Highway, Lawai, Kaua'i).
