Workshop Guides Churches in ONA Discussion
Mike Schuenemeyer, UCC Minister for Health and Wholeness Advocacy, will lead a workshop
for churches that want to learn about the Open and Affirming (ONA) process. The workshop will be held on Saturday, March 1, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Conference Office. ONA is a way for churches to declare their welcome and inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons into the full life of the church. Cost is $10 for lunch, and participants must register by Tuesday, February 25.
National Staff Available to Consult Churches
United Church of Christ staff leading workshops at the Church Leaders Event on February 22 are available to visit and consult with churches around that time. These leaders include Gordon Gilles, President of Cornerstone Fund; Patrick Duggan, Executive Director of Church Building and Loan Fund; and Mike Schuenemeyer, Minister for Health and Wholeness Advocacy. Clergy Retreat on Hawai'i Island

Nu'uanu Hosts Garage Sale and Treasure Hunt
Nu'uanu Congregational Church and the Children Center on 2651 Pali Highway will join hands for a garage sale and treasure hunt on Saturday January 25, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Come "hunt" for household good, clothing, toys, small appliances, refreshments and books—even a "small pirate" looking for buried treasure.
Hospice Hawai'i Holds Family Camp
