UCC President Preaches in Hawai'i

John Dorhauer, UCC General Minister and President, will be the preacher at a special community-wide worship service on Sunday, September 25, 4 p.m., at Central Union Church (1660 South Beretania Street, Honolulu).  All are invited to this service, which will include choirs from local churches, affirmation of the Rev. Dorhauer’s installation, and Holy Communion.

Convergence Imagines Bridges, not Walls

The United Church of Christ and the Southwest Conference invite UCC congregations to take a stand for justice and against militarization at the border wall in Nogales, Arizona/Sonora, from October 7 to 10, 2016.  Border Convergence will include workshops and events on both sides of the border, as well as art, music and resistance.  Those unable to attend are encouraged to endorse the convergence and to send crosses of witness to be placed at the border.

Cornerstone Fund Elects New Head

Cornerstone Fund’s board of directors has elected a new President and CEO, Maria Coyne, who will succeed the retiring Gordon Gilles.  Cornerstone Fund offers loans to UCC churches and organizations for property-related projects, as well as investments to UCC churches and members.

Deadline for Clergy Retreat Approaches

Youth Camp Deadline Is September 1

Nu'uanu Pastor Departs

Mary Paik concluded her ministry at Nu'uanu Congregational Church after eight years of service.  Her last Sunday in the pulpit was August 21.
