Updates for “Hawaiian Christmas” Telecasts

  • “A Hawaiian Christmas” will be replayed on television on Saturday, December 8, 3 p.m., on KITV.  The show, which features local musicians performing at Kaumakapili Church, will also appear nationally on NBC stations on Christmas Day (times vary by location).

2012 Offerings Reminder

Contributions to UCC all-church offerings support ministries and change lives. If your church has not yet submitted Basic and Special Support offerings for the 2012 calendar year, it’s not too late. All offerings received at the Hawai'i Conference Office by Thursday, January 10, 2013, will be counted toward your church’s 2012 contributions and in Five for Five tallies. Seminary Funds First-Year Tuition

Eden Theological Seminary, a United Church of Christ seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, is helping people explore theological education by providing free tuition for first-year students in the Master of Divinity degree beginning Fall 2013.  If you have a bachelor’s degree and are interested in Eden’s program, contact Carol Shanks, Director of Admissions, at 877-627-5652.  You can also read more at www.eden.edu.


Christmas Pageant at Waiokeola

There will be no Sunday morning service at Waiokeola Congregational Church (4705 Kilauea Avenue, Honolulu) on Sunday, December 9, because of the Honolulu Marathon which passes directly in front of the church.  Instead, service will be held at 4:30 p.m. and will feature “Impromptu Christmas Pageant” staged by the children.  A "Happy Birthday to the King" party will follow the service.

Advent Events at Windward UCC

Windward United Church of Christ (38 Kaneohe Bay Drive, Kailua) is observing Advent by holding Morning Watch Meditations on Wednesdays, December 12 and 19, at 7 a.m.  A Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, “A Service of Lessons and Carols,” will take place on December 24, 7 p.m.  For additional information, contact Lucinda Keller by phone at 808-254-3802 or by email at windwarducc@hawaii.rr.com.

Christmas Cantata at Lili'uokalani Church

An ecumenical choir made up of several North Shore churches will perform a Christmas cantata, “One Incredible Moment,” on December 15 at Waialua United Church of Christ (67-174 Farrington Highway, Waialua), and on December 16 at Lili'uokalani Protestant Church (66-090 Kamehameha Highway, Hale'iwa).  Both performances are at 7 p.m.  For more information, call the Lili'uokalani Protestant Church office at 637-9364.

Christmas Concert at Kawaiaha'o

Po'okela Sponsors Winter Youth Camp
