Mahalo for Supporting Komen Race for the Cure

Twelve Conference staff and family members formed the Hawai'i Conference UCC Team at last Sunday’s Komen Race for the Cure in Kapi'olani Park.  Thanks to your support, the UCC team came in third place overall for the most donations received, and Lori Yamashiro, Office Manager, received second place for the most individual donations.

Nanakuli Pastor to Be Installed

The O'ahu Association will install Iese Tuuao as Pastor and Teacher of Samoan Church of Hawai'i LMS on Sunday, December 2, 4 p.m., at the church located at 87-140 Kahau Street in Nanakuli.

Join "A Walk to Remember"

Hawai'i Donor Family Council invites families and friends of organ and tissue donors to a “Reflective Walk and Blessing” on Saturday, November 3, 10-11:30 a.m., at Foster Botanical Garden (50 North Vineyard Boulevard, Honolulu).  All are invited to participate in this event which honors and remembers organ and tissue donors. Service Recognizes Value of Teachers

A public interfaith service to recognize the value of teachers will be held by Faith Action for Community Equity (FACE) on Thursday, November 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at St. Andrews Episcopal Cathedral (229 Queen Emma Square, Honolulu).  Click HERE for information.

Workshops for Cancer Patients

“Keeping Well in Mind and Body” is a workshop sponsored by the American Cancer Society to help cancer patients learn how to reduce stress and increase well-being.  The workshop, led by UCC minister Deborah Ball, will be presented on Thursday, November 29, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Queen’s Medical Center.  Click HERE for information and to register.

Attend SafeTALK Suicide Prevention Training

In the past twelve months, 8.6% of teens in Hawai'i have attempted suicide.  SafeTALK training prepares people to identify persons with thoughts of suicide.  Hawai'i Youth Services Network has scheduled a training session for Monday, December 3, from 12 to 3:30 p.m., at Queen Lili'uokalani Children’s Center (1300A Halona Street, Honolulu).  To register for this session, or to arrange a training session for adults and older youth in your church, click HERE.

Po'okela to Hold Winter Youth Camp
