Actions from 190th 'Aha Pae'aina

Delegates at the 190th 'Aha Pae'aina earlier this month at Kanana Fou Church took the following actions:

1) Approved the Conference Budget for the fiscal year ending 2013. Click HERE to download a copy of the budget and a narrative budget.

The Hawai'i Council of Filipino Ministries celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special service and dinner on June 22 at the Waipahu UCC Community Center and a sports fest on June 23 at Filipino UCC. Click HERE to view photos.

Neighbors In Need Grant Awarded

Koloa Union Church received a $2,000 Neighbors in Need (NIN) grant from the United Church of Christ Justice and Witness Ministries. The grant will assist the church's monthly “Food Bag Distribution” outreach ministry to those in need on the island of Kaua'i. Download Red Cross First Aid App

A new phone app provides ready information on common first aid and tips on preparinghow to prepare for a wide range of emergencies. Developed by the American Red Cross, this app is available for iPhone and Android phones and can be downloaded by clicking HERE.

Sewing Supplies Needed

Sewing supplies are needed for a sewing project in Upper Kamis, a remote area in Mindanao, Philippines. The Woman's Board of Missions for the Pacific Islands, in partnership with Kokokahi UCC's Tropical Hunger Mission Project, will be shipping out these supplies at the end of July. Annual Bazaar at Pookela Church

Food, baked goods, plants, silent auction, and many bargains can be found at Po'okela Church's Annual Bazaar on Saturday, July 7, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the church (200 Olinda Road, Makawao, Maui). For information call 808-573-0903.

Ola'a Welcomes Donations for Rummage Sale

Ola'a First Hawaiian Church in Kurtistown, Hawai'i, is accepting donations of clean, gently used items for its rummage sale on Saturday, July 7. Proceeds benefit the church's ministry partnership with the Hawaii Island Home for Recovery. Please call 808-936-5913 to arrange for drop-off or pick-up.

Installation at Hanapepe Hawaiian

The Kaua'i Association will install Gwendolyn (Nani) Hill as Pastor of Hanapepe Hawaiian Congregational Church on Sunday, August 19, 3 p.m. at the church.

Interim Changes at Wananalua

Ron Cook ends eight months as Interim Pastor at Wananalua Congregational Church in Hana, Maui, this Sunday, July 1. Margaret Watson, UCC minister from Florida, will be the church's Interim Minister beginning Sunday, July 8, through the end of August.
