UCC Young Adult Service Communities

Applications are being accepted for the 2012-2013 UCC Young Adult Service Communities program. This leadership development program is for young adults between the ages of 21 to 30 who are committed to actions of social service, social justice, conscientious living and spiritual reflection. Reminder: Investors Workshop Deadline on Friday

The Hawai'i Conference and Hawai'i Conference Foundation will host an Investors Workshop on Saturday, March 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Kawaiaha'o Plaza (567 South King Street). Churches that currently have custodial investment accounts as well as those that don't and want to learn more about investing are encouraged to attend. Nu'uanu Church Offers Scholarships

Nu'uanu Congregational Church is accepting applications for its Scholarship Program for students enrolled in accredited institutions of higher learning. Click HERE for the application form and instructions. The deadline to turn in the application and all supporting documents is May 31.

Grover Cleveland to be Commemorated

A birthday commemoration and unveiling of a portrait in honor of President Grover Cleveland and his support for Queen Lili'uokalani at the time of the overthrow of the Hawaiian Monarchy will be held on Saturday, March 17, 10 a.m., at Cleveland Court (Mililani and Queen Streets). Workshop in Hilo: “A Rediscovery of Life”

A free workshop featuring a four-part video, readings, meditation, and discussion on the teachings of modern-day mystic Anthony de Mello will be held at Church of the Holy Cross (440 West Lanikaula Street, Hilo) on Friday, March 30, and Saturday, March 31. Workshop on Maui: Migrant Farm Work Ministry

Wendy Taylor, a UCC pastor in California and author of No Longer Strangers: The Practice of Radical Hospitality, will discuss her ministry with migrant farm workers on the coast of California at a talk at Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church (100 Kulanihakoi Street, Kihei) on Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. To learn more about the ministry, click HERE. 'Aha Mele O Hualalai

Kahikolu Congregational Church will host the Thirteenth Annual “'Aha Mele O Hualalai,” on Saturday, April 21, at 9 a.m. The 'Aha Mele will celebrate the life of Ella Hudson Paris (1852-1938), who served as organist for Lanakila Church and as Sunday School teacher at Kahikolu Church. Churches interested in participating should contact Kahikolu Church at 808-328-8110 by April 13.

Register for UCC Coalition National Gathering
