Register By Friday for 'Aha Pae'aina

This Friday, May 8, is the deadline to register for the 'Aha Pae'aina ('Aha Iki, June 10-11; 'Aha Makua, June 12-13).  After Friday, a late fee of $30 will be charged.  Handbooks and other meeting materials will be available for download beginning May 15.
 

O'ahu Invites All to 'Aha Mokupuni

The registration deadline for the O'ahu Association’s Spring 'Aha Mokupuni has passed, but you can still register at $20 per person.  At the 'Aha, delegates will have the opportunity to support O'ahu youth attending the 2016 National Youth Event by buying homebaked goods.  To donate baked goods, email ltakagi1@hawaiiantel.net or sakabaj001@hawaii.rr.com.

Clergy May Take Boundary Training Online

“Healthy Boundaries in Ministry” is an online course offered by FaithTrust Institute from June 1 to July 3.  For information and to register click HERE.  This course fulfills boundary training expectations for clergy in the Hawai'i Conference.  Courses like this, both online and in person locally, are listed on the Learning Opportunities page on the Conference website.
 

Churches Play Role in Keeping Youth Safe from Abuse

An Insurance Board (IB) webinar, “Protecting Children from Abuse,” will address how churches and leaders can help safeguard against abuse.  The webinar will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 8 a.m. (Hawai'i time).   Visit the IB website to register and to find out about upcoming webinars.

Musicians Honored for Lifetime Contributions

Kenneth Makuakane, Acting Papa Makua, and Richard Ho'opi'i, member of Kahakuloa Church, were recipients of Na Hoku Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Awards presented by the Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts last Sunday, May 3.  As part of the honor, Mayor Kirk Caldwell proclaimed May 3 as “Kenneth Makuakane Day.”
 

Ewa Community Pastor Will Be Ordained

The O'ahu Association will ordain Randy Reynoso and install him as Pastor and Teacher of Ewa Community Church (91-1258 Renton Road, Ewa Beach) on Sunday, May 17, 4 p.m.
