Nomination Forms Mailed to Churches

Nominating forms and position descriptions for volunteer positions in the Hawai'i Conference United Church of Christ were sent out to churches last week. Nominees for all positions will be elected at the 'Aha Pae'aina in June and begin on July 1.  Deadline for submitting nominations is March 1. Forms may be downloaded by clicking HERE.

Carbon Fast for Lent

Looking to give up something for Lent? Try a carbon fast! Sign up and each day of Lent, beginning February 13, Ash Wednesday, you will receive an email message suggesting an activity that reduces the amount of carbon put into the air. UCC Coalition for LGBT Concerns

The national gathering of the UCC Coalition for LGBT Concerns and Open and Affirming Movement will be held in Long Beach, California, June 26 to 28, just prior to the start of General Synod.  For information and to register click HERE.

AHEC Invites Scholarship Applications

The Association of Hawaiian Evangelical Churches invites seminarians, clergy and lay leaders in good standing with an AHEC church to apply for the Kahu Leilani M. Keanu Scholarship for Theological Education (formerly known as the AHEC scholarship). Application deadline is February 28.   Click HERE for information and to apply. Cellphone Photo Exhibit

A photo taken by Insurance Board agent and Church of the Crossroads member David Takagi is part of the “Phone Camera Photos 2013” exhibit at South Street Gallery in Honolulu. The exhibit will run from February 1 to 15.  Gallery hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturdays.  An opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on February 1.
