Seminary to Offer Advent Resources

Prepare for worship this Advent by joining the on-line workshop hosted by Chicago Theological Seminary on Wednesday, October 10 at 5:30 a.m. (HST).  The workshop will look at the scripture themes for Advent, and participants may interact live with presenters via Twitter.  The cost is $15, which includes a $10 donation to the seminary’s scholarship fund. AHEC Holds Recognition Service

Boundary Training Offered on O'ahu

Boundary Training for clergy will be held on Tuesday, October 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Conference Office (1848 Nuuanu Avenue, Honolulu).  Authorized ministers are expected to participate in boundary training at least once every three years.  To attend and be included in the lunch count, notify Diane Weible, Associate Conference Minister, at 808-791-5633 or


Walk for Domestic Violence Awareness

As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October), the Domestic Violence Action Center’s Consortium for Health, Safety and Support will hold a march on October 6 against family violence and for safe and healthy relationships.  To participate, gather in front of Hui Hana Pono (85-888 Farrington Highway, Waianae) at 9 a.m. Click HERE for more.

Visit Holy Land with PSR

Pacific School of Religion, in collaboration with the Society for Biblical Studies, is sponsoring a trip to the Holy Land from January 6 to 15, 2013.  For information and to register, click HERE.  Registration and a $200 deposit are due by October 9.

Widening the Welcome Conference

“Widening the Welcome 2012: Inclusion for All” is a conference hosted by the United Church of Christ Disabilities Ministries and the United Church of Christ Mental Illness Network to help congregations include persons with disabilities and their families. Palolo Home Honors UCC-Judd Street Member

Daniel B.T. Lau, member of United Church of Christ—Judd Street, will be honored by Palolo Chinese Home at its benefit gala on October 5, 6 p.m. at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom. Waiola Member named to Cornerstone Board
