Hawai'i Island to Meet Saturday, Discuss Mass Incarceration

Hawai'i Island Association churches will gather for its Spring 'Aha Mokupuni this Saturday, April 16, at Church of the Holy Cross (440 West Lanikaula Street, Hilo), beginning at 9 a.m.  Following the business meeting, at 10 a.m., there will be a community conversation on mass incarceration, featuring a panel of state legislators and open conversation on how faith communities can help make changes. 
 

O'ahu Association Convenes Ecclesiastical Council

The O'ahu Association will examine Makana Milotta for ordination at an ecclesiastical council this Sunday, April 17, 4 p.m., at United Church of Christ–Judd Street (467 North Judd Street, Honolulu).  To ensure quorum, churches are asked to indicate whether they will attend or not by emailing rkamanu@hcucc.org or calling 808-791-5633.  Click HERE for more information and to download his ordination paper.
 

Nu'uanu Church Hosts Worm Classes

Ralph Rhoads will speak about vermicomposting (using worms to eat garbage) at three free community sessions at Nu'uanu Congregational Church (2651 Pali Highway, Honolulu).  Classes will be held on Monday, April 18, 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, April 19, 9:30 a.m., and Saturday, April 23, 9:30 a.m.  Register by email at kimoment2@hawaiiantel.net, or call 595-3135 after 7 p.m.
