AHEC Calls for Nominations

Nominating forms for volunteer positions in the Association of Hawaiian Evangelical Churches (AHEC) were mailed to all AHEC churches.  Deadline for submitting nominations is March 14.  Elections will be held during the 'Aha Na Kai Ewalu (annual meeting) at the 'Aha Iki in June.

Kawaiaha'o Member, Senator Preaches at Easter Sunrise Service

Daniel Akaka, member of Kawaiaha'o Church and retired U.S. Senator, will be this year's preacher at the Easter Sunrise Service at Punchbowl on March 27, 6:15 a.m.  This annual service, now in its 115th year, is sponsored by the Hawai'i Council of Churches, which includes the Hawai'i Conference UCC.


Videos Assist in Advanced Care Conversations

Author and physician Angelo E. Scholar Discusses Hebrew Bible

Alice Ogden Bellis, Professor of Hebrew Bible at Howard University School of Divinity, will lead classes on the Hebrew Bible as part of the Tri-Isle Association's Equipping Tomorrow’s Church Leaders.  Sessions will take place on March 11, 5-9 p.m., and March 12 and 19, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., all at Wailuku Union Church (327 S. Summit On Homelessness Gathers Faith Community

Learn how to meet the needs of homeless persons, partner with service providers and utilize government resources at "HawaiĘ»i Faith-Based Summit on Homelessness," sponsored by the  Institute for Human Services and Interfaith Alliance of Hawai'i.  The summit will take place on March 14, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., at Central Union Church (1660 South Beretania Street, Honolulu).    

Musician Will Perform, Lead Choral Master Classes

Mark Hayes, a concert pianist, composer and conductor, will be in Hawai'i next month to perform and teach:
