Webinar Explains Healthcare Act

The Justice and Witness Missional Team of the Hawai'i Conference will sponsor a webinar next Tuesday, February 10, 3 p.m., on the “Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare"): What It Means for You.”  Ellen Godbey Carson and Aryanna Abouzari, local health law attorneys, will discuss how the law is transforming health care and its impact on us.  Join the webinar at http://tinyurl.com/nx6mz2v.  A bulletin insert publicizing this session encourages churches to form small groups to view the webinar together.

Carbon Fast for Lent

Looking to give up something for Lent?  Try a carbon fast.  Sign up and each day of Lent, beginning February 18, Ash Wednesday, you will receive an email message suggesting an activity that reduces the amount of carbon put into the air.  Daily emails will continue through Easter Sunday, April 5. Deadline Extended for Clergy Retreat

Fundraiser Supports Women Transitioning from Prison

The Second Annual "Women Supporting Women," sponsored by Pu'a Foundation and other community organizations, will raise funds to assist women transitioning out of prison.  The event will be held on Friday, March 27, 5:30-9 p.m., at Kapiolani Community College’s Ohia Dining Room.


Ko'olauhui'ia Protestant Church was recently featured in an article in The Garden Island newspaper about its year-long 150th anniversary celebration.

  • Larry Roller, a retired Lutheran minister, began as Interim Minister of Waipahu UCC on February 1.
