Youth Camp Deadline Is September 15

The deadline to register for the Hawai'i Conference Fall Youth Camp is next Monday, September 15.  The camp will take place from Sunday, October 5, to Wednesday, October 8, at Camp Erdman on the North Shore of O'ahu.

 
Boundary Training Offered on All Islands

Boundary training for ministers will be offered in various locations over the next several months.  All authorized ministers are required to complete boundary training at least once every three years. Credit is given only for attendance at a full session.  Registration information will be available closer to each date.  For more information, call the Conference Office at 808-537-9516 or from neighbor islands at 1-800-734-7610 and speak to any of the Associate Conference Ministers.

Phil Reller Installed at Pearl City Community

Kamehameha Schools Publishes Hawaiian/English Bible

The Baibala Hemolele with English translation (New American Standard Bible) was introduced and blessed last Friday, September 5.  This new edition, containing New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs, is available for purchase from Mutual Publishing.
 

Register for O'ahu 'Aha Mokupuni

The O'ahu Association Fall 'Aha Mokupuni will be held on Saturday, October 18, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Nu'uanu Congregational Church (2651 Pali Highway, Honolulu).  Registration deadline is October 8.
 

September is National Preparedness Month

“Be Disaster Aware, Take Action to Prepare” is the focus of 2014 National Preparedness Month.  During the month of September, families, communities, schools and workplaces are encouraged to plan a PrepareAthon! Day that focuses on increasing emergency preparedness through hazard-specific drills, group discussions and exercises.
 

Give Aloha in September

Waipahu Church Holds Bazaar

Waipahu United Church of Christ (94-330 Mokuola Street, Waipahu) will hold its Annual Bazaar this Saturday, September 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., featuring huli huli chicken, country store, white elephant, arts and crafts, and goodies such as andagi cooked on the spot.  Drop off donations at the church on Friday, September 12. Nu'uanu Church Hosts Worm Workshops

The Ulu Wai Ministry of Nu'uanu Congregational Church (2651 Pali Highway, Honolulu) is sponsoring a free workshop, “Vermicomposting With Side Orders of Salad & Tea,” by “da worm guy” Ralph Rhoads.  The workshop will be offered twice: on Friday, September 12, 7-8:30 p.m.; and on Tuesday, September 16, 9-11 a.m.  Registration is required.  Contact Velma Akinaka at kimoment2@hawaiiantel.net or 595-3135 after 7 p.m.
 

O'ahu Association Will Ordain Cindy Au

The O'ahu Association will hold a Service of Ordination and Installation for Cindy Au, Chaplain of Arcadia Family of Companies, on Saturday, September 27, 4 p.m., at Central Union Church (1660 South Beretania Street, Honolulu).
 

Harvest Fair Returns to Kailua Church

Kailua Christian Church (317 Manono Street, Kailua) will hold its annual Harvest Fair on Saturday, October 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Available will be food, arts and crafts, plants, silent auction and garage sale.  The Blood Mobile will also be on hand for donations of blood.  For more information, call the church office at 808-261-0125.
