Liturgy Remembers Exile of Japanese Americans

In light of recent events, the “Day of Remembrance” of the mass exile and imprisonment of Japanese Americans during World War II is especially timely.  A worship resource for the remembrance, which is held annually in February, has been prepared by Ellen Godbey Carson, member of Church of the Crossroads.

Waianae Church Votes to Be ONA

Ka Hana O Ke Akua Church voted last Sunday to become an Open and Affirming (ONA) congregation. Since 1985, more than 1,300 UCC congregations have declared themselves open to and affirming of persons who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender.  Learn more about becoming ONA in an online webinar being offered on February 7.

Workshop Examines Bible and Homosexuality

The Equipping Tomorrow’s Church Leaders (ETCL) program of the Tri-Isle Association will present “The Bible and Homosexuality,” a two-day workshop on March 17 beginning at 5:30 p.m., and March 18 beginning at 9 a.m., at Iao United Church of Christ (2371 West Vineyard Street, Wailuku).  Register and apply for travel assistance by March 10 to  The next ETCL program will be July 7-8 and 14-15, featuring New Testament scholar, Craig Hill, discussing the subject of eschatology.

Woman’s Board Announces Date of Annual Meeting
