AHEC Installs Lili'uokalani Pastor

The Association of Hawaiian Evangelical Churches will install David Kieffer as Pastor of Lili'uokalani Protestant Church (66-090 Kamehameha Highway, Haleiwa) on Saturday, November 22, at 2 p.m.

Conference Addresses Needs of Soldiers and Veterans

Moral Injury and Soul Repair is a conference featuring military chaplains, clinicians and theologians addressing the spiritual, moral and emotional needs of military personnel and veterans.  The conference will be held January 29-30, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in San Diego, California.  Registration begins December 1.

 Attend a Community Thanksgiving Service

Interfaith and ecumenical Thanksgiving services are held every year in November at different locations throughout the islands.  Following are some of this year’s services:

Kaua'i O'ahu
  • Nu'uanu Valley Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, "Feeding the Hope," Tuesday, November 25, 7 p.m., at Temple Emanu-El (2550 Pali Highway, Honolulu) 
  • Windward Coalition of Churches Thanksgiving Eve Service, Wednesday, November 26, 7 p.m., at Pohai Nani (45-090 Namoku Street, Kaneohe)

O'ahu Association Offers Polity Courses

The O'ahu Association offers an on-going series of free courses on UCC polity and history for those seeking UCC ministerial standing.  The next session, “Polity of the United Church of Christ,” will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Lili'uokalani Protestant Church (66-090 Kamehameha Highway, Haleiwa).  Lay members and authorized ministers are welcome to audit the series.  For more information, contact Kyle Lovett at Kyle.lovett@mindspring.com.
