Summer Internships at Nu'uanu Church

Nu'uanu Congregational Church offers a ten-week internship program for college students interested in exploring the connection between faith and vocation as they learn to serve God.  The internship runs from May 23 to August 4, 2013. Windward UCC Invites Scholarship Applications

Organizations Observe Grover Cleveland Birthdate

Pacific Justice and Reconciliation Center and The Interfaith Alliance of Hawai'i are among the organizations commemorating the birthday of Grover Cleveland, who was U.S. President when Queen Lili'uokalani was arrested in 1893 and who opposed the overthrow of the monarchy.  The event will take place on Monday, March 18, 12-1 p.m., at Cleveland Court (Mililani and Queen Streets).  For more information, click HERE.

Woman’s Board Hosts Kauai Launch of Memoirs

The Woman's Board of Missions for the Pacific Islands is hosting a book launch, dedication and book signing of the historic Memoirs of Henry Obookiah on Thursday, March 21, 6 to 8 p.m., at Lihue United Church (4340 Nawiliwili Rd.).  Click HERE for the flyer.

Kaumakapili Dedicates Banyan Court Mall

Kaumakapili Church (766 N. King Street, Honolulu) will bless and dedicate the Banyan Court Mall on Sunday, April 7, at 12 noon.  The Mall, immediately adjacent to the church, was acquired from the City and County of Honolulu in February.  The event includes recognition of the church’s 175th anniversary.  Those attending are asked to notify the church at 808-845-0908 by April 3.

Methodist Pastor Hosts Worship Workshops

During the month of April, United Methodist pastor Mary Scifres will lead workshops around the islands on the topic of worship.  “Designing Creative Worship for the 21st Century—A Postmodern World” is sponsored by the Hawaii District of the United Methodist Church and is open to all.  Click HERE for workshop schedule.  To learn more about Mary, click HERE.  Deadline to register is April 8.
