Pacific Peace Forum Remembers Bravo Anniversary

Pacific Peace Forum, a monthly gathering around peace and non-violence training, will meet on Friday, March 7, 6 p.m. to observe the anniversary of the H-bomb test in the Marshall Islands known as “Bravo” and to discuss keeping the nation of Palau nuclear-free.  The gathering will take place at St. Andrew’s Cathedral (229 Queen Emma Square, Honolulu).  For more information contact Kaleo Patterson at 808-330-3769.
 

Apply for Neighbors in Need Grants

Neighbors in Need (NIN) provides funding for church programs that address issues of injustice. Grants of up to $3,000 each are available to UCC churches and organizations. Funding comes from the NIN special mission offering received each year on World Communion Sunday. Deadline to apply is March 31. Deadline Approaches for 'Aha Resolutions

Resolutions for consideration at the upcoming 'Aha Pae'aina must be submitted by March 15 for review by the Conference Council.  For more information, including instructions on proper form and submission, click HERE.
 

Webinar Discusses Maintenance of Churches

The Insurance Board (IB) will offer a webinar, “Maintaining Your Church with Volunteers and Contractors,” on Wednesday, March 12, at 5 a.m. and repeated at 9 a.m. (Hawai'i time).  The webinar will address the use of independent contractors, the implications of using volunteers for seemingly "simple" maintenance projects that can be more dangerous than you think, and strategies for staying out of trouble.  Visit the IB website to register and to see a list of upcoming webinar topics.

Nu'uanu Church Offers Summer Internships

Nu'uanu Congregational Church offers a ten-week internship program for college students interested in exploring the connection between faith and vocation as they learn to serve God.  The internship runs from May 25 to August 3, 2014. Pearl City Member Will Receive Recognitions
