Conference Office Closes Next Wednesday, Coconut Wireless Schedule Changes

The Conference Office will be closed on Wednesday, March 26, in observance of Prince Kuhio Day. Next week’s Coconut Wireless will be delayed and delivered to your inbox on Thursday, March 27. The following week, the Coconut Wireless will take a break on April 2 and will return to your inbox on April 9.

Lent and Easter resources, as well as a listing of Lenten and Holy Week events, can be found on the Hawai'i Conference website.  Click HERE to send an email with your church’s event to be listed in the Coconut Wireless and posted on the website.
 

 Register for Tri-Isle 'Aha Mokupuni

The spring meeting of the 'Aha O Na Mokupuni O Maui, Moloka'i Ame Lana'i will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Waiola Church (535 Wainee Street, Lahaina).  Registration deadline is April 15.

 O'ahu Association Offers Polity Course

The O'ahu Association offers a series of courses on UCC polity and history for those seeking UCC ministerial standing.  The next session, “Church History,” will be held at Manoa Valley Church on Saturday, March 29, from 9 a.m. to noon.  Lay members and authorized ministers are welcome to audit the series.  Courses are free, but it helps is you reserve your spot by March 23 by contacting Kyle Lovett at RevKyle@hawaii.rr.com.
 

 Church Collects for Hawai'i Foodbank

Waiokeola Church (4705 Kilauea Avenue, Honolulu) will collect donations for Hawai'i Food Bank on Saturday, April 19, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  This is the 24th year that the church has been a collection site.  For more information contact Beverly Zane by email at pewli1@hawaii.rr.com or Rae Alice Hall by phone at 808-942-8086.
 

 Coalition Announces ONA Gatherings

The UCC Coalition for LGBT Concerns will convene gatherings in Oakland, California, on June 6-8, and in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on June 22-25.  These meetings are opportunities to connect with members of Open and Affirming churches and with the wider LGBT community.  For information visit www.ucccoalition.org.
