With this issue, we begin the next chapter in the life of South Dakota Wing Skychaser. The previous Skychaser's look was journalistic, in keeping with CAP Public Affairs standards. Time commitments and available Public Affairs staff have made it challenging to continue that format.
This new version of Skychaser is a Commander's Update Briefing. It will still link to some conventional PA news stories and staff reports, but primarily will be bulleted briefing items.

Our condolences again to the family of Ruthe King,
December 1, yesterday, was recognized as the 81st anniversary of the founding of Civil Air Patrol in 1941. It was also the first anniversary of Col Marek beginning his three-year term.
Wing Conference Committee members, so far, are Col Mary Donley, Lt Col Bill Strandell, and Lt Jodi Williams. If they ask for your support or involvement, please say yes. The goal is that no one gets stuck doing all the work.
In your year-end charitable contributions, remember cadet flight scholarships, your local CAP unit. or SDWG. Details from Col MIke Beason.
New leases for Sioux Falls have been signed at National Headquarters and sent to Signature Aviation for finalizing. The leases include the Sioux Falls hangar space, the squadron meeting space, and "the wing room."
N832CP is expected to return to SDWG in the next few days when its annual is completed in Kansas.
LCCS Model Rocketry Day was Nov 19, but they could not launch rockets due to high wind. (Photos)
The LMCS color guard posted and retrieved colors at the Spearfish Veterans Day Banquet. The color guard has been reestablished with all-new members and this was their first public performance. (Photos)
Miller Flight has been deauthorized. It fell below the minimum membership and recruiting avenues had been exhausted.
Redfield unit? We have received some interest in chartering a school-based cadet squadron in Redfield. Selected staff will attend an informational meeting in Redfield Friday, Dec 9.
Congratulations
Approved at National. Presentation ceremonies may not yet have been held.
