Endless Eighties

We hope you can join us for our celebration of synthesizers and big hair with "Endless Eighties" at Skokie Theatre Music Foundation on February 20th, 2010 at 8pm.

From broadway to pop, the 80's are back! Celebrate the great (and sometimes not so great) music of the 80's. From the great broadway musics including Phantom of the Opera and Into the Woods to remarkable hits of Madonna, Irene Cara and Depeche Mode, the Endless Eighties will take you on a trip down memory lane. 

Melissa Young will be joined by Chicago vocalist Rob Dorn and Mark Burnell on the piano.  Special guest appearance by jazz favorite Amy Cole.

Amy Cole stars in Cole Sings Cole

Celebrate cabaret month with our March production "Cole sings Cole", feature performer Amy Cole and the music of famous Coles. The performance will be at the Skokie Theatre Music Foundation March 13th, 2010 at 8pm.
 
"Cole sings Cole" celebrates the music of Cole greats Cole Porter, Nat (King) Cole, and Natalie Cole.  These talent artists have had an enormous impact on American popular music.  Collectively, their contributions have given classic and timeless music that spans from the early part of the century to the present day.Some favorites include Night and Day, Paper Moon and When I Fall In Love.
 
Performers include Amy Cole as vocals, Chris Sargent on piano, and Joe Policastro on bass.  The Musical Director is Paul Marinaro.

Three Cat Education 
A Summer in the Theater at the Skokie Theatre Music Foundation

Three Cat Education announces the 2010 summer camps for youth at the Skokie Theatre Music Foundation that run from June 14th to August 20th.  Under the leadership of Education Director, Jacque Lueken,  Three Cat Education's mission is to excite children and teens about the world of theatre.  Maintaining a professional setting and a high quality educational environment, our students will discover themselves, develop confidence, and experience all the theatre has to offer.

Chess coming March 7-April 25

Chess is another big stage musical being reinvented in the intimate No Exit Café that Theo Ubique is famously known to produce.  Chess, a Cold War rock musical, features several Jeff Award recipients from last season's production of Evita, including:
  • Fred Anzevino & Brenda Didier as co-directors
  • Brenda Didier as choreographer
  • Ryan Brewster as music director
  • Maggie Portman as Florence, the woman in the middle of a love triangle and Cold War intrigue
Also featured are Jeremy Trager as Anatoly, the Russian, and Courtney Crouse, the American, as the world champions pitted against each other at international chess events and with Florence at the center of the love triangle.
