five ideas and one coffee

Welcome to five ideas and one coffee. Each week, a combination of what's going on in the ongoing convergence of digital and social media, and how that impacts the way we communicate. Plus, something I learned about coffee this week. Let's get started!

Five Ideas.

Idea One:
How Detroit's marginalised communities are building their own network of internet access points - improving the community's skills at the same time.

Idea Two:
Long and full of quoted swearing, a tale of protracted online abuse - how one woman's digital life was weaponised against her.

Idea Three:
How US Congress ended up listening to a number of keen amateurs on the extent of online disinformation campaigns.

Idea Four:
What's wrong with Facebook's proposed way of preventing the spread of intimate images

Idea Five (the how-to's):
How to improve user testing

One Coffee.

This year, I'd like to hear from you about what you've learned over coffee. In the meantime, here are some points on what makes a cafe great.

... that's it!

See you next week. Hit reply if you've learned something, or if you'd like to suggest an idea or a coffee.
