In Case You Missed It: Can't Miss Announcement

Father David, Ninevah Murray and John McCarty share an exciting announcement in this Giving Tuesday video.

The Grant will match dollar-for-dollar the value of any pledge received on or after November 30, or any increases to pledges previously made. It will also double the value of any charitable gifts, such as a stock transfer, IRA or 401K distribution, or other year-end giving designated toward the matching grant. All funds intended for this grant must be received by July 1, 2022. If the challenge is fully met the total amount could be $800,000 or more! First Sunday Name Tags: Wearing a name tag is a great way to get to know your pew neighbor, make a new friend, and welcome all to the Holy Trinity community. Name tags will be available outside All Saints Chapel for the 8 a.m. service and on the walk in front of the Church for the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services.
Outreach Project for Children and Youth during the Parish Meeting: All children and youth will gather in Broome Hall from 8:45 a.m. until the end of the parish meeting. We will be creating beautiful ornaments to adorn 30 small Christmas trees for Holy Trinity parishioners who might not be able to attend church in person at this time. This is a service project that even young children can fully participate in. We need as many older youth as possible to assist the younger children and to make the more challenging ornaments. There will be mini holiday doughnuts from Krispy Kreme! Please come and help us spread Christmas cheer.

Annual Parish Meeting

It is that time of year again to have our Annual Parish Meeting and elect the next Vestry class of four people willing to serve Holy Trinity. The meeting is this Sunday, December 5 at 9:35 a.m. in the nave. The Vestry Nominating Committee has identified eight excellent nominees representing various demographic groups within our parish. All communicants in good standing who attend the December 5, 2021, Annual Meeting will be eligible to vote on the nominees.

Music Notes

Fran McKendree passed away this year after living with cancer for some time. His legacy of music has lifted, inspired, and touched many different peoples and faith communities. He visited Holy Trinity and shared his gifts several times. His song Watch, O Watch is part of both the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services this week. The text, while not specifically for Advent, is poignant: "Watch, O Watch, the night has come. Be still my soul and pray".

Pictures from Yesterday's Sanctuary Reconfiguration

To create some long-overdue elbow room for our wonderful musicians and more space for people who need walking assistance, we have removed the front pews in the sanctuary and moved the courtesy screens back to where the first row of pews used to be located. All of Holy Trinity's pews are effectively memorial installations and have hand-carved escutcheons on each end. The removed pews were lovingly moved down to the Youth Building for the time being. We hope the congregation and musicians will welcome the aesthetically proportional and appropriate change.
