It's Fellowship Time!
Wednesday, May 18th - 5:30 - 7:00 PM

Please join us on the Patterson Terrace for an official kick-off to summer dinner with friends. We'll enjoy hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixin's and Kona Ice will be on hand to provide dessert. We will cordon off a part of the parking lot so kids can bring their bikes and scooters and, as always - the playground will be open.   Please bring items to donate to our Hot DIsh and Hope Toiletry Drive. We look forward to seeing you!

Price Scholarship Awarded to Garrett Hartley

Bishop McGuiness High School senior Garrett Aubrey Hartley, Jr. (Rhett) is this year's recipient of Holy Trinity's Price Scholarship Award.  Rhett and his family have been active members of the Parish for years and he looks forward to attending Hampden Sydney College in the fall. We will feature more about this remarkable young man in this month's Parish Post.

A Prayer for the Appalachian Trail Pilgrims

Almighty God, we ask for your blessing on our Appalachian Trail pilgrims as they travel with intention through the Three Ridges Wilderness. May they be blessed with a safe journey and open hearts to receive all that you have in store for them. As they leave behind what is comfortable and known, may they feel your presence and love, and the transformative joy that is you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

HUGS Camp Needs Volunteer/Helper Campers!
July 9 - 16

A special note from Liz and Alex James:
For many years, our sons Matt and Will looked forward to HUGS Camp every summer, a place where campers with special needs are celebrated simply for who they are.  As HUGS campers, they enjoyed lots of typical camp activities: singing and dancing, swimming, a talent show, campfires every night and lots of all-around silliness. Helper campers are the key to making it all work, sharing in the camp experience by helping the HUGS campers fully enjoy their week.  HUGS (Helping Understand God through Sharing) Camp celebrates each camper as a unique gift to the world.  As parents, we tried to help Matt and Will see themselves as gifts and to live their lives fully.  HUGS reinforced that message and helped them to grow in love and confidence. HUGS isn't just a place (Haw River State Park). It's also an attitude. Give it a try if you'd like a glimpse of how good the world can be.

Movie and a Discussion

Beloved Community Film Series

Join us at 3:00 PM for Sunday's feature: “Selma”.  The film tells the remarkable story of Dr. Martin Luther King’s campaign for voting rights in Alabama, which culminated in the 1965 march from Selma to Montgomery. That same year, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the historic Voting Rights Act.

May Casserole Ministry

We have made a few new adjustments to the Casserole Ministry this month. The need for trays of a main dish (protein) and cooked vegetables has been reduced to 4 of each. With the warmer weather there has been a request for more cold salads (in the vegetable category). Don't forget to pay attention to drop-off times since these have changed recently. Thank you all for your continued support and show of love for our neighbors in Christ. Sign up, here.

Celebrations and Memorials

We pray for the soul of Patricia Wojtek.  Mother of Chris (Connie) Wojtek. Grandmother of Peyton and Lukas.
