So is the will of God
1 Timothy 2:3-4
"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."
When we look around in this world, what is it we see? Do we see the treasures of this earth or do we see the treasures of heaven? And what are we asking for? Are we asking for things of this earth or are we asking for the will of the Father to be done on earth as it is in heaven?
You see often we often ask for things for our own benefit. Things which will make our lives easier or more comfortable. We ask for so much for ourselves that our prayers become lost in translation as we seek our will to be done on this earth and not the will of our Father.
Think about it for a moment. When last have we asked for an opportunity to share the light of Christ? When last have we asked that the Lord would lead us to seek and save the lost? When last have we asked of God to give us the courage and strength to share HIs word with our friends, colleagues or our next door neighbour?
So what is the will of the Father to be done on earth as it is in heaven? Well, the will of our Father is to have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. This is why Jesus came to this earth, that we may find the truth and that the truth would set us free.
It is the will of God that we give thanks in all things; that we be patient and endure as we shine our lights before those whom the Father wants to draw to HIs Son, to seek and save the lost. Proverbs 11:30 says, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise.”
So today, may we truly bring forth the fruit of the righteousness of Christ. And may we be wise in winning souls for His kingdom. What will we ask of God today?
