"Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
Today many are filled with fear. Fear of violence, fear of financial circumstance, fear of the future and so much more. In fact, fear is one of the biggest weapons of the evil one. He uses fear to make us worry, to make us anxious, to make us lose focus on the great and precious promises of God.
However, God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Wow! What a wonderful verse this is. But how often we forget this and how often we allow fear to grip our hearts and minds.
The Word of God clearly tells us that there is no fear in love; because perfect love casts out fear. And this perfect love of God, that is, Jesus Christ, abides in us and us in Him - so, greater is He that is in us (that which is unseen) than he that is in the world (that which is seen).
Matthew 6 says that we should ‘Take no thought for tomorrow - what you shall eat, or what you shall drink or what you shall wear’ because God is in total control. Philippians 4:6-7 says ‘Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.’
So today, who will your listen to and believe? Will you listen to and believe your circumstance and the worry and anxiety that surrounds you? Or will you listen to the voice of God and believe in His great and precious promises?
