Running a cyber security company out of Cohab connects me to dozens of local businesses and I find that most small business owners know they should be doing something, but they don’t know who to ask or where to start.

Cyber security really means protecting your data, your client’s information, and safeguarding your communications. And if you have thought to yourself, “Why would someone want to hack us?” I can tell you that the cyber world is about crimes of opportunity and the Internet is a place of roving criminals from all over the world...Read More

Yoga Coop in Downtown Shreveport is scheduled for Thursday at 11:30am here at Cohab, in the Red River District! There is a $5 suggested donation at the door, and everyone is encouraged to bring their own yoga mat! This week, our instructor will be Megann McDaniel.  Megann is a full time Project Manager whose heart belongs to health and fitness. It brings her joy when she can be part of the journey to help others lead healthier lifestyles.  She teaches the longest running completely free community service yoga class in Shreveport and volunteers her time in an effort to provide healthy outlets for those in the community.
NLA Entrepreneurship

New Venture begins New Session

If starting or growing a business is one of your resolutions, plans, or dreams, Cohab invites you to join us in working to make 2017 the best year for entrepreneurship in Northwest Louisiana yet.  On March 7, Cohab, Louisiana Economic Development (LED), and Southern University’s Small Emerging Business Development Program are partnering to offer NewVenture, a course for any current or aspiring business owner who wants to take a more strategic path towards success in the new year.  Meeting each Tuesday evening for 10 weeks, NewVenture teaches entrepreneurs how to identify and meet market needs, how to test the viability of their business concept, and walks them through the critical steps necessary to successfully launch or grow their businesses.

To find out more about the course, visit our website or feel free to email Jessica.

Coffee and Conversation
Coffee wasn't the only thing heating up Monday morning as Cohab friends and family began to gather around the famous Clason Coffee Bar.  Peter Lyons of Lyon's Pride Coffee was behind the bar prepping the selected drinks for the day, all locally roasted beans, one of them being his own private roast.  Business owners and entrepreneurs discussed and networked while each coffee was narrated by Peter, and paired with a select chocolate treat provided by Kristens Bakes and Now Youre Cooking.  Business collaboration was the name of the game, as new members connected with our seasoned and experienced business owners and mentors.  Topics overheard during this event included, "Who does the best branding locally?", "Have you been to Bossier Night Market yet?!", and "What BNI group have you visited?".  Monday Morning Rev Up at Cohab happens every second Monday of the month.  We hope to see you at our next event in March!
