Do you support safeguarding Federal Nutrition Programs?

National Anti-Hunger Organizations (NAHO) are actively seeking organizations and schools to sign onto a letter which reads in part: 'We call on the Administration and the Congress to recommit our nation to one of its most important and widely agreed-upon beliefs, one that has deep and long-standing bipartisan support: nobody in this country should go hungry.
Specifically, we call on you to protect and defend the federal nutrition programs from block grants and structural changes; to fully fund these programs and defend them from budget cuts, taking steps to ensure all people in our country have access to the nutrition they need to live healthy and productive lives.'

The NH Food Alliance Farm to Institution Action Team is seeking team members to participate in developing a work plan focused on: Taking an  inventory of ways that local food is currently accessed within institutions, investigate what kind of language was used to develop contracts with local food producers, and work with regional partners to build capacity for institutions and communities to access local food by developing templates and providing technical assistance.
If you are interested in participating please contact:  stacey.purslow@unh.edu
Our first meeting is scheduled for February 22 from 10:00-1:00 pm
at The NH Hospital Association in Concord.
