NH Farm to School in collaboration with the NH Department of Education, Bureau of Nutrition Programs and Services is once again partnering to bring you a full day conference on farm to school and farm to preschool. This event, scheduled for November 10, 2015 , will take place at Mill Falls at the Lake in Meredith, NH. The day will feature a keynote speaker, resource tables, raffle prizes, breakfast and lunch, as well as 15 workshops on school and youth gardens, procurement, seasonal menu planning, composting, food safety, farm to school action planning, NH agriculture and more! A seafood throwdown will take place during lunch. Registration will be open soon! This event is limited to 230 persons, the facility capacity, so don't delay in registering!
Last spring, the Northeast Regional Steering Committee of the National Farm to School Network, coordinated a Farm to School Recipe for Success contest to find some great farm to school ideas from around the region. The results of that contest are 10 unique projects to inspire you including the winning Iron Chef-Salad Challenge from Liz Lichtenberg of Alton Central School. Take a look and see if you can adapt one to your needs or just duplicate it at your school. All projects can be found here.

Are you baffled by procurement? Unsure how you are going to get those local and delicious foods into your lunch program because of the USDA competitive bid requirement? NH Farm to School has created some resources and tools to help you! This link will take you to the procurement page on the NH Farm to School website where you will find examples of product specifications targeting local foods, a guide to writing specifications, a couple of one page handouts explaining farm to school procurement, using forward contracts, and presentations developed by our own Bureau of Nutrition Programs and Services. This fall NH Farm to School will be doing a number of farm to school procurement workshops around the state for both schools and farmers and a webinar is planned for late September. If you still have questions or are interested in attending a workshop please contact
