PRE-BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONER MEETING UPDATE
SEPTEMBER 16th MEETING
The main items that will be heard during the September 16th Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting are the following:
- Discussion to approve the proposed amended budget for China Spring Youth Camp for Fiscal Year 2021-22. Nevada’s legislature, at the direction of Governor Sisolak, substantially reduced China Springs’ budget greatly reducing the number and services it can provide at risk children who badly need this service.
- Presentation of a Retail Market Analysis for the downtown areas of Minden & Gardnerville. I am personally excited about this agenda item. I feel there are great things the BOCC can do to help invigorate the downtown communities.
- Amend a County Ordinance requiring a maintenance plan for golf courses that have closed for more than 30 days and an increase of nuisance penalties for residential properties and non-residential properties, golf courses, and open space property. This matter was put on the agenda directly by Chairman Engles.
The final two agenda items deal with the never ending VHR regulations. In response to a Clark County Federal Judge’s Temporary Restraining Order, the BOCC will vote to approve minor amendments to the Amended Ordinance it passed this past July.
Also in response to the same Judge’s order, the make-up of the Advisory Board must be changed to reflect two VHR owners, two non-VHR owners and one owner who does not live in Lake Tahoe.
