GOOD NEWS
Laura Toledo, Romarilyn Ralston, and April Jackson, former graduate, met with Bike & Build cyclists on Saturday, June 11. Bike & Build does cross-country cycling trips to support affordable housing in the United States.  They embark for 8–11 weeks, cycling across the United States, stopping along the way to build housing in collaboration with other non-profits. The group was excited to learn about CWIT's transitional housing as well as the state of affordable housing for program graduates like April. Learn more about the Bike and Build mission here.
$ Hands on Banking  $
Through a generous grant from Wells Fargo and United Way, staff at the Center have been implementing Hands on Banking classes for the clients. The course materials, provided by professionals at Wells Fargo, teach the women at Baker House and Schirmer about personal finance, banking, credit, and more. Thank you to Robin, Romarilyn, and Vicki for teaching these classes, and thank you to Wells Fargo and United Way for providing the opportunity!
IN BLOOM
The women at Baker House and Schirmer House have started to plant flowers and veggies in their garden plots!  Many of them want to learn more about gardening and growing vegetables. If you or anyone you know is a gardener or have a love of flowers or homegrown vegetables, we would love for you to come and share your skills!
VOLUNTEERS
The Center is looking for a dedicated volunteer to fill the position of Donations Manager. This volunteer would work approx. 4 hours per week. This volunteer position would help with sorting and organizing our clothing and household donations.

Just a friendly reminder about donations:
If you have items to donate please be sure to make sure they are in GOOD condition. We currently do NOT need clothing donations, unless it is IN SEASON work/interview attire. We are only able to accept donations of underwear or bras which are NEW one. If you would like to donate household items, please check our wishlist and make sure the items are in GOOD, WORKING condition.
