We raised over $170,000 at this year's Beautiful Transformations Gala and Auction.
We are so grateful to our loyal supporters, new donors, volunteers, and staff for making this event one to remember. The funds will be used to help women as they transition to their families and communities after incarceration.

We hope all attendees had a wonderful time and will come back next year! If you took a photo with our beautiful butterfly, click here to view and purchase photos.

Thank you to everyone who gave on Give STL Day this year. Despite technical difficulties faced by the Give STL Day site, we raised over $2,700 for the Center! We enjoyed being a part of this city wide day of giving, and are truly grateful to everyone who gave.
Darlene Dilbeck epitomizes a beautiful transformationDarlene entered Schirmer house in 2011. She had one goal that consumed the majority of her time: getting her daughters back. Darlene exited the program in 2012 after securing her own housing. Looking back on her time with the Center for Women in Transition, Darlene appreciates having “time to work on me. It gave me perspective on who I am and what I needed to change in my life,” Darlene vividly remembers the uncertainty that surrounded her reentry, not knowing where she was going to be able to find housing and how she would get her kids back, but she also remembers the support she received from the Center: “The staff was amazing, I always knew I could come down to the office and speak to anyone and open up. They were so full of encouragement.”
“I have the skill to make things, beautiful things; that is one of the things I learned [from the Center for Women in Transition], give back – pay it forward. This is a way for me to give back”. And through Afghans for Charity Darlene does just that. Afghans for Charity is a project that Darlene started, through which she makes afghans to be purchased or bid on at charity events to help the host organization raise money. Check out the Facebook page here!
