Rescheduled due to chance of thunderstorms

Hello friends -

Even though the weather is gorgeous right now, there is a decent chance of rain and even thunderstorms this afternoon.  We have debated our options, and decided to reschedule the community picnic for Sunday, September 18.  This isn't an easy decision, and it's totally possible the afternoon will be just breezy sunshine.

In addition to wishing to avoid huddling under a picnic shelter in a thunderstorm, we also hope this new date will allow more folks to attend, as many told us they were unavailable today due to other end-of-summer events.

We hope you haven't already started preparing your potluck dish, or if you did, that it can be easily frozen.

Thanks for your understanding and hope to see you in class soon - or at least on Sunday, September 18!

Cheers,
Nick and Lela

PS - We need to get a few more registrations for Eliza's restorative workshop tomorrow to be able to run it.  Please register by 7p tonight if you want to attend, otherwise we may need to reschedule.
Rescheduled for September 18!

Let's gather amongst the grand cottonwoods at Harbert Park and share a feast.

Located on McDaniel between Crain and Greenleaf, east of the North Shore Canal, this hidden gem has a great playground and sliver of forest (where Nick leads his Thursday morning outdoor classes). Bring your kids, lawn chairs if you have them, maybe some musical instruments?

RSVP here and let us know what you can bring: http://evite.me/ubNcvbA71Y

Restorative yoga is an ideal way to relearn what once came naturally - resting and relaxing just as we are. It is a practice of conscious relaxation that cultivates profound rest through passively held, supported yoga poses.

Nestled in a supportive environment of blocks, bolsters and blankets, your body automatically begins to relax. Poses can last from 5 to 25 minutes, which allows a slow release of both physical tension and mental stress. The destination is sublime comfort and ease.

The benefits of regularly practicing restorative yoga enable us to remain calmer during stressful situations, to manage chronic pain and anxiety, and to invite a mental and physical state where healing easily emerges.

Beginners are welcome, although some familiarity with yoga or other body work is helpful.
