Hello Taco Lovers!
All the latest from Rayme and Comida
I began my day earlier in the week surrounded by restaurant people. No, they weren’t all out on my deck in North Boulder, up in the hills watching the sun rise…. but a little while after that I delivered myself to the tasting room at Infinite Monkey Theorem in Denver, and that’s where I found them all.
As a part of a panel of 3, hosted by Eat Denver, that included Josh Pollack of Rosenberg’s Bagels and Andrea Frizzi of Il Posto and Vero, we were invited to talk about how we got to where we are. We shared the good, bad and ugly. It was awesome and I felt at home. This business of mine (of ours) is as peculiar and difficult as it is amazing and energizing. It was comforting and inspiring to be in such great company as we talked!
I have easily felt all of the aforementioned emotions over the last few months. On December 14th we opened the newest location of Comida at the Stanley Marketplace. Time has absolutely flown by… and business has been truly awesome! Turns out…. people in Aurora (more easily identified as the greater “Stapleton” area) were ready for Stanley! And we at Comida…. and I would venture to say every other merchant within the Stanley that has opened since…. couldn’t be more grateful!
Right, so that’s what I have been doing. Working, watching the sunrise every morning, and figuring out how to better serve the people that support Comida. Below you will find a few of the things we have been up to or will soon be knee deep in. I thank you all for the support you have given these last 5 (and really 7 if we go back to when Tina started rolling back in 2010) years ago. I do all of this with some of the greatest people I know. We are nothing without the people that surround us. I am grateful to all of you!
Peace, love and tacos!
