Dear <<First Name>>,
I have a new realization to share.
I believe in pleasure, curiosity, and interest. I also believe in building and organizing the world you want to live in.
I work with the body on stage as a casual, thinking body in pleasure.
Why do I share this with you?
I think it's important, I think it's political. I'm not saying pleasure for pleasure's sake, but I see so many friends and family members moving through life with the motto: "No pain no gain". And that motto does not make them happy or healthy in their lives and in their bodies.
Pain to me is simply information, just like any other input from my senses. I don't seek it out and I don't go for it with the notion that it will bring me some kind of gain. The idea of suffering in order to gain something is terrible.
In war, no one is the winner. It's the same within ourselves. Don't go to war with your feelings and emotions, with your senses. There is always another way.
I think this rant is about Brutal Honesty and how this practice is making me realize a lot of things I didn't know before.
Also, I am writing the largest grant I've ever written that if funded will create a dance research residence, a forum, will fund Brutal Honesty show, and the continued research for my next performance Lick My Gun (yes the one I started making in 2017 and want to finish in 2023). So wish me luck!
Ok, now here are the things I am doing this month.

A portrait in red by Desislava Mincheva
In the last week, I've been working in the huge National Gallery - Kvadrat 500 with German choreographer Julian Weber.
I had to choose a painting from the collection and do a little installation in relation to it. If you are in Sofia, or traveling here for the Antistatic festival (which I am dancing in Dance by Zhana Pencheva), check it out.
May 15th at 15:00 (or 3pm)
at National Gallery - Kvadrat 500

Presentation of the choreographic laboratory by Julian Weber with the artists Galina Borisova, Stanislav Genadiev, Violeta Vitanova, Zornitsa Stoyanova and Voin de Voin
"Moving in squares" is realized with the support of the Goethe-Institut Bulgaria and in partnership with the National Gallery "Kvadrat 500". The event is part of the "Without Distance" platform within the project "Life Long Burning" - for a sustainable ecosystem of contemporary dance in Europe, co-financed by the "Creative Europe" program of the European Union. "Moving in squares" is part of "Without Distance" educational platform of "Antistatic" Festival, which takes an approach focused on articulating the dialogue between the performing and the visual arts. The results from the dance laboratory will be presented in front of the audience in the format of dance miniatures and performances, questioning the concepts of "body", "sculpture" and "painting".

Alternative Stage Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria
Ok the cat is out of the bag. I am starting an outdoor site-specific festival. Hopefully, the above-mentioned grant will get me a bit more funding for the festival and I will be able to hold an open call. It will happen in September and BodyMeld, along with Atom Theater and Platform for Improvisation and Composition will create unique outdoor events for our audiences.
