Getting to Marrakech is now easier than you may think, particularly if your clients are travelling from Germany and Scotland (read all details below).

Last week, a french association of MICE organizers held their annual meeting in Marrakech and many participants made special press announcements to insist on the security and serenity they felt during their stay.
Not to say anything of the ASTA (American Society of Travel Agent) that will be holding their "Destination Expo" in Marrakech next march.

And this year again, Unitours will be in Barcelona for the EIBTM 2014, so let's meet there, stand J80 (along with the Moroccan National Tourism Office), we will be delighted to give you a sample of the warm welcome that we reserve to all your clients!

MORE SEATS TO MARRAKECH


From GERMANY
The new flight Marrakech-Frankfurt by Lufthansa been officially launched on 2 October 2014. Two flights per week: Thursday and Sunday. Added to that, a flight from Dusseldorf by A2ur Berlin also twice a week and a flight from Hamburg by Germania.

From the United Kingdom
After Bristol, Stainsted, Gatwick and Manchester, Easy Jet has launched 2 new flights from Glasgow to Marrakech, on Wednesday and Saturday.

And from anywhere in the world !
The Private jet of the Four season Hotel, a Boeing 757 with a total capacity of 52 Passengers will be launched in Summer 2015.

And the first air connection ever between Iceland and Marrakech will be operated, from Novembre 27th, by the Icelandic Tour Operator Heimsferdir, with a back to back flight every 10 days with a Boeing 77800 seating 178!


A RE OPENING MUCH WAITED FOR


The Palais des Congrés of Marrakech Congress palace has re opened on 1st November 2014 after a full year of complete renovation, ready to welcome the Pure Life Experiences Exhibition from 10th to 14th November and later on the 14th edition of Marrakech Film Festival early December featuring this year a special tribute to the Japanese Cinema - Main auditorium seats up to 1700 seats and the technical equipment will be completely updated.

The next door hotel Mansour Eddahbi has been taken over by Concorde Hotels & Resorts 18 monts ago and will re-open by the end of March 2015. The brand new concept of garden-hotel will offer a choice of 441 rooms and suites, ideally located in the city center, only 10 min from Marrakech Airport and15 min walk from the main attractions of he city.

JSet Marrakech: The new jeep lounge/Restaurant and Africa’s first ‘Ice Bar’ !! opened in Marrakech on 7 June 2014. The new place to be in Marrakech... Total capacity : up to 450 people.

The Spa by Clarins of Royal Palm Marrakech opened its door on 10 September 2014 - 3500 square meter of pampering!

Algerian-French designer Norya Ayron’s Moroccan-inspired womenswear is becoming a hit with the stars. Trendy, comfortable caftans to be found in her Pop Up Shop near Souk Cherifia, just newt to charming oasis-like restaurant « Le Jardin ».
In Souk Cherifia you will also find some barter-free shops displaying the beautiful production of some of the most well know designers of the city, from soft suede handbags to silk cushions or « pop » wheat-sacks babouches !!
For those who'd don’t like haggling, the solution is at the Ensemble Artisanal for shopping at the closest thing to a department store specialized only in handicraft. Prices are probably slightly higher that what you would get in the souks after 30 minutes of discussion, but the quality is good, sometimes even better...


Cooking: "Bissara Dip"

For a light dinner or a warming breakfast.

 
Ingredients
  • 1 cup (250 ml) extra virgin olive oil, plus extra to serve
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic (about 8 cloves)
  • 500 g dried split broad beans (fava beans) *
  • 6 cups (1.5 litres) water
  • 2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tbsp white pepper
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds, roasted, roughly crushed
Add half the oil to a large saucepan over medium heat. Fry the onion, garlic and broad beans, stirring often until the onion has softened. Add 4 cups (1 litre) water, bring to a soft boil, the lower the heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until the beans are tender, adding more water as needed.
In a small jug, combine the cumin, paprika and white pepper with half a cup of water. Add this to the broad beans, cook, stirring constantly, for a further 15 minutes or until thickened. Add more water if necessary and make sure the mixture doesn’t stick to the bottom of the saucepan. Season with salt and stir in the remaining olive oil.
Garnish with roasted crushed cumin seeds and drizzle with olive oil. Serve warm with warm bread.
