A new space for your events in Marrakech

With a capacity of 10 to 2000 + people, The Coliseum at Tigmiza can accommodate all types of events: weddings, gala dinners, fashion shows, birthdays, concerts, launch parties, seminars and incentives...
Indeed, the circular space of 20m in diameter, the architecture of which is inspired by its Roman ancestor, was conceived and designed to enable everyone to give free rein to his imagination, creating a unique event.

New aviation tax in Morocco.

Parliament approved on Wednesday the plan for an aviation tax, which will come into force on April 1 on all international air tickets issued in Morocco
First class flights will be taxed 400 dirhams ($48/36 euros) while a surcharge of 100 dirhams (9 euros) will be added to economy class tickets, Lahcen Haddad said.
The government expects to raise around 90 million euros a year initially, half of which is expected to fund the activities of the Moroccan national tourist office, with the rest to go to a social development fund.

ROYAL PALM by BEACH COMBER is due to open by end of December 2013.

Marrakech Airport breaks all records and More seats are now available.

According to the statistics of ONDA, the Marrakech-Menara Airport is experiencing a rise in traffic of 11.53% and an increase of 16.33% rotations. Certainly due to low-cost airlines, air traffic in the UK market increased by 25% since 2012. Rynair alone generates 600 movements per month and will increase its frequencies with several direct links to London, Madrid, Pisa and from Memmingen  starting November. 
Easy Jet flies to Toulouse, Basel and Geneva since October and even British Airways increases its number of flights London / Marrakech between April and October 2014 and will start on December 14th, a new route from Marrakech to Bristol with 2 flights per week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The plane will take off Tuesday at 7:20 (HL) and will leave at 11:30 am from Morocco, while the rotation Saturday leaving Bristol at 15:25 (HL) and return at 19:35.
To increase capacity on the ground, the airport of Marrakech-Menara should have a second terminal in 2014 on a total area of ​​67,000 m2, with a capacity of 5 million passengers per year, bringing the total capacity of International Airport to 9 million passengers.

Royal Air Morocco: 10 new weekly flights from Marrakech from November

Royal Air Morocco (RAM) has started launching, from November ten additional weekly frequencies from the international Airport of Marrakech Menara, 4 to London and several others to Geneva, Madrid and Milan.
Major player in the promotion of tourism destination Morocco, the national company opens the new air routes to Europe with the main objective to invest in new markets important tourism potential such as Switzerland, the UK, Spain and Italy.

Casablanca, future conference capital in Morocco?
The mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë visited on Tuesday, October 1st the "Casablanca Marina" beach resort with the Mayor of Casablanca to learn about all the developmental projects that are realized in the city of Casablanca: Casablanca Marina project, the anti- pollution eastern seaboard, conducting collector Oued Bouskoura, the Skytrain and slum clearance project.
Added to the project of the Congress Palace in Casablanca Marina, the Ryad Mogador hotel group has acquired a beautiful infrastructure and consider seriously transforming it into a convention center with more than 2,000 seats,  500 places of parking space, and a  600 bedrooms hotel, due to open in May 2014.
We also know that ONCF (the Moroccan Railway Company) plans a 500 rooms hotel for the proposed second tranche of Casa Port railway station.
With all these projects, it would seem that in 2015 Casablanca could be the capital of conferences and Marrakech that of events and incentives!

Cooking: Bissara

A winter warmer for 4 or 6

  • 1 1/2 cups (about 8 oz. or 200 g) dried fava beans
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons (or more) reserved cooking liquid
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot paprika or cayenne pepper
Additional cumin, paprika and olive oil, for garnish, chopped parsley or cilantro, for garnish (optional).
Soak the dried fava beans overnight in a large bowlful of water. The next day, drain the beans and peel them if they weren't already skinned and split. You may also used frozen lava beans, in this case reduce the cooking time by 20 minutes.
Place the peeled fava beans in a pot and cover with a generous amount of water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium or medium-high, and simmer the beans until tender, one hour or longer.
Drain the beans, reserving the liquid.
Transfer the beans to a food processor, and add the garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of the reserved liquid, and spices. Process on high speed until smooth, adding additional liquid if necessary to thin the bessara. It should be thin enough to pour or spread out on a plate. Taste the bessara, and adjust the seasoning if desired.
Reheat the bessara and serve warm. Garnish with any of the following: ground cumin, paprika, hot paprika, olive oil, and chopped parsley.
