The Rev. Kevin S. Brown Elected 11th Bishop of Delaware
Former West Tennesseean, the Rev. Kevin S. Brown of Charlotte, N.C., has been elected as the 11th diocesan bishop of the Diocese of Delaware. Brown, currently rector of the Church of the Holy Comforter in Charlotte, was sent to The General Theological Seminary in New York and then to Grace Church in Paris, Tennessee by Bishop Don E. Johnson in 2007.  He served at Grace Church for 3 years. Brown will be ordained and consecrated on December 9, 2017 by the Most Rev. Michael B. Curry, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church. Delaware State University in Dover will be the site of the service.

Bishop Johnson, remembering Brown says: "Kevin, Caroline, Emily and Margaret will continue in the path they have been taking since I had the honor of ordaining Kevin in West Tennessee.   This is a creative, faithful and caring family. These gifts are brought to everything they do. So, Kevin’s new call as bishop will undoubtedly reflect these gifts.  The people of Delaware have made a very good choice."

St. Clare Silent Retreat
This Fall

One weekend each year, just as the trees begin to turn from green to gold, we gather in a lovely lodge nestled in nature’s sanctuary to more fully experience the blessings of silence. It is there in those sacred woods that silence invites us to be led deeper into the awareness of God’s presence in our lives.

St. Clare Silent Retreat Weekend for Women and The Rev. Mimsy Jones are pleased to announce that our annual retreat will be led by Connie Cruthirds.

Connie is a writer, master certified life coach, and compassionate observer of self and others.  Silence is her go to place to listen for what she believes is always there waiting to help us find our way through this wild world.

We invite you to join us for this very special weekend October 20-22, 2017 at St. Columba Conference and Retreat Center in Memphis, Tennessee. The cost for the full weekend, Friday 5 pm thru Sunday 12 pm, includes a private room with shared bath, all meals, full access to St Columba’s beautiful property and all sessions with Connie is $260.  A commuter option is available for $150.  If you have questions, please email stclareweekend@gmail.com or call 901-335-4001.
Registration will begin on August 7 on St. Columba’s web site: https://
