Tax Tips for Busy Businesswomen

It's that time of year again! You've just wrapped up your taxes for 2014 and want to make sure you are on track for 2015. Join us as we hear from Consuella Hopkins of Consuella's Accounting as she shares tax tips that every business owner should know to make sure their tax "house" is in order. There will be time for a short Q&A.

Consuella Hopkins is the Founder, President and CEO of Consuella’s Accounting & Tax Service locally owned and operated in South Bend, IN. She has served as a tax accountant and entrepreneur for this firm for over 18 years. Consuella has assisted over 1,000 clients each tax season overcome challenges related to their taxes and proper filing of personal, corporate, partnership, and non-profit tax returns. As a well-respected tax accountant, she is responsible for handling over $27 million in refunds. Consuella’s firm not only provides tax services, but also includes accounting and payroll services for both personal and business clients all across the United States and internationally.

She is quite active within the community as she has initiated and participated in numerous committees and events that contribute to the overall prosperity of the city. She is committed to serving the community by uplifting blighted and struggling areas. Another recent initiative is called A Swella’s Ville Neighborhood. A Swella’s Ville Neighborhood has come from her vision of restoring neighborly living, quality housing, and financial literacy throughout the city. Consuella is a member of the South Bend Heritage Foundation, Neighborhood Resources Corporation, Lincolnway West & Revitalization Committee, and the Community & Economic Development Committee with the City of South Bend. She has sponsored The Lincolnway West Corridor Beautification Project which will be in its 5th year come May 2015.

Consuella gained 15 years of accounting, banking, and tax preparation experience from her time with leading financial institutions. She is a native Hoosier and graduate of Indiana University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and an Associate’s degree in Public Speaking. Consuella currently resides in South Bend with her husband and 4 children.

Every winter, we walk in solidarity with women and children whose everyday means of transportation is their feet, in any kind of weather.

The funds raised help St. Margaret’s House improve the lives of women who struggle with economic poverty. St. Margaret’s House is a safe, hospitable place where women and children can receive a hot meal, clothing, and help to discover their gifts, learn new skills, and create a better life for themselves and their families.
