Join Us for Our October Luncheon on 10/14

"I am a Breast Cancer Survivor"

This October, you will hear from a recent breast cancer survivor, Stacey Richez, as she shares her story of strength, courage, and loss. As a young mom and working professional, you will learn not only about her journey through her diagnosis and illness, but also the loss of her job and healthcare mid-cancer treatment and the financial implications of her loss. Stacey will share with you her unique advantage and insight into how the disease can affect women not only physically but very importantly, financially. And the solutions available to make sure your family is protected from the very devastation she faced. When you are sick or injured, your health insurance pays your hospital bills…but who pays YOU? Join us to learn how you can help you protect your family, your fortune and your future.

Stacey has her Master’s Degree and License in Social Work. She had worked in the Social Work field for over 15 years providing a wide range of services, including case management, therapy, supervision, marketing and advertising, group presentations, facilitating individual and group trainings and providing file oversight. Stacey worked for over 13 years at the same company as a dedicated and loyal employee. But in 2013, at the young age of 38, Stacey was diagnosed with invasive ductal cell carcinoma, breast cancer. As a wife and mother of a young child, Stacey’s fears surrounded her family and if she would be able to continue to take care of them. During her treatment, Stacey lost her job and health care coverage. She tried to navigate the financial and health coverage consequences of that loss. Always the social worker, Stacey sought out the resources in the community to support herself and her family. And there were many. But the financial loss was devastating. Stacey remembers trying to navigate her health care decisions on her own, trying to figure out what was the best plan for her family. It was hard to understand at a time when she just didn't have the energy to figure it all out. While talking with a HealthMarkets advisor about how he could help her family, Stacey gravitated towards the opportunity to learn more about a company where she could learn how she could help others prepare themselves BEFORE a major illness, to help protect themselves from the financial ruin that can come from a major illness. Stacey is excited to share with you her journey, as a professional, as a survivor and as someone who can help you protect your assets and your business.
