X-ES Can Help You Extend the Life of Legacy PowerPC Designs with Long Life SBCs and VxWorks 5.5.1 BSP
If you need to extend the life of a legacy system based on an old PowerPC processor, such as the 750FX, 750GX, 7410, 7447A, 7448, 7450, 7457, or 8640, and software written for an old version of VxWorks, X-ES can help with VME and CompactPCI SBCs, PrPMCs, and XMCs supporting a PowerPC MPC8640D processor (with an AlitVec co-processor) and a VxWorks 5.5.1 BSP.
VME SBC - XCalibur1331
The XCalibur1331 can be inserted into pre-VME64x (ANSI/VITA 1.1-1997) backplanes because it is available without a P0 backplane connector and it does not require +3.3V from the backplane; +3.3V is generated locally on-board.

The XCalibur1331 features include:
-
Freescale MPC8640D CPU with dual e600 cores at up to 1.25 GHz and AltiVec processor
-
Air or conduction cooling
-
Up to 4 GB DDR2-533 ECC SDRAM in two channels
-
Four Gigabit Ethernet ports (one front panel port)
-
Two PrPMC/XMC interfaces, x8 PCI Express XMC sites
-
One SATA 3.0 Gb/s port
-
Three USB 2.0 ports (one front panel port)
-
Two RS-232/422/485 serial ports (one front panel port)
-
Available with or without P0 connector
-
Available with 3-row or 5-row P1 and P2 VME connectors
-
VxWorks 5.5.1 BSP support
3U and 6U CompactPCI SBCs

PrPMC and XMC
With the XPedite5101 and XPedite5102 PrPMC/XMC modules, any PrPMC/XMC carrier can be used to upgrade a legacy system to a supported, long-life PowerPC design.

All X-ES MPC8640D-based products available in commercial air-cooled, rugged air-cooled, and rugged conduction-cooled versions. X-ES plans to build and support all 8640D hardware for a minimum of 10 years.
