December 2013 Newsletter

Welcome to the Denton County Bar Association Newsletter! This issue brings you many new articles and events for December 2013.

Letter from the President
Christmas is my favorite holiday and time of year.  We all recall this time of year being referred to as "the giving time of year."  And it's certainly true--people give parties and gifts, retailers give "bonus gifts" with a purchase, and nonprofits promise to give you a gift with your pledge or donation.
Our Monthly Luncheon Meeting Location has been at Oakmont Country Club for about the past twelve years. They have served us well on many occasions and we are grateful to have a venue like Oakmont. Over the past two years, however, we have received several complaints from members about the food and service at Oakmont.  Your Board of Directors has listened to your concerns, along with concerns of our own, and we decided a change of venue was in order.

Beginning January 3, 2014, our next regularly scheduled Monthly Membership Luncheon (Business Meeting), our meetings will be held at Hilton Garden Inn in Denton.  The address is 3110 Colorado Blvd., Denton, Texas 76210.  Their map and directions are at the following address:

We know change is difficult for some and a new location might be hard to adapt to, so we'll be including their information with our usual reminders and on our Facebook page.

Have a very merry holiday season and a happy new year!  See you at the Hilton Garden Inn next year!

Ted Ogilvie, President
