Sorrowful Farewell to Helen Teresa Dhooghe

We are saddened to learn that Vincent Dooghe, one of our own Bar members, lost his beloved wife, Helen, in a car accident on February 2nd.  Vincent and Helen have 14 children who were being homeschooled by Helen.  This is a severe blow to the Dooghe family!  The family requests donations in lieu of other gifts and flowers.  The Denton County Bar encourages members to come to our Brother’s aid during this his time of grief and transition.  Please Click Here for the obituary of Helen and information on the Dooghe Family Donation Fund that has already been at their church.  You may also send in your donation to the Bar, and we will make sure it gets to the family.

Rearview Mirror:
McCulloch v. Maryland

By: Philip M. Herr

Most of us studied the McCulloch v. Maryland case in constitutional law. Without getting into political debates about proposed legislation in Congress, I would submit that, for us as lawyers, our fellow citizens will some times ask us questions or seek guidance regarding the constitutionality of proposed congressional legislation. So, with that in mind, it was the impetus for writing this article.
