#JoinMe in January

This January, we’re supporting Public Health Dorset’s #JoinMe campaign. Come and enjoy some fresh air, exercise and time with loved ones at our sites - it can do wonders for your physical and mental health and wellbeing. Some activity is better than none, and more is even better! Learn how to make it fun and part of everyday you could win a year's pass to one of Dorset's country parks!

Dorset Dogs Guided Walkies

The first Dorset Dogs 'Walkies' of the new year will be to the remarkable Agglestone Rock on Saturday 11 January at 11am. It's friendly, free and fun! If you can't make that one, there are already three different walkies planned for February. Take a look at the website or Facebook page for dates and details.

Durlston Pleasure Grounds: Landscape work

Contractors ID Verde are making great progress installing a new path through the woods, resurfacing other paths and restoring historic stone and timber seats. Staff and volunteers are restoring the Victorian footbridge as well as dry-stone walls. In January, we are excited to welcome artist and designer Alice Blogg to install new benches and hope to re-open much of the project area in February.

Calling all Bird Watchers

RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch is the biggest survey in the world, with around half a million people regularly taking part! Over the last 40+ years, it has provided vital information on how bird numbers are changing. If you'd like to take part but don't have a suitable space to do so, why not use Avon Heath's hide garden? Pick up an ID sheet and a survey form from the visitor centre and join in the count on 25 - 27 January.
