November News Flash

Warm greetings! If you are traveling this fall and winter through either of the Minneapolis St. Paul airport terminals … LOOK UP! Due to construction in the departure hall at terminal 1, the wait times have been a bit longer which means you may have time to enjoy my newest installation! Twenty five of my scrolls from 122 Conversations are hanging high above the check in kiosks. I hope that you will find a few moments of pleasure viewing the installation. Terminal 1 will be up through the end of 2019. Terminal 2 will be installed this month and be twice as large, 180 feet wide!  Terminal 2 installation will be up for one year! Thank you to ARTS@MSP and the Airport Foundation at MSP for an expert install and monumental walls! Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and MASS MoCA to Present ‘Slow: A Symposium in Praxis & Theory’ Symposium at MASS MoCA Nov. 1

I am excited to share that I will be a panelist for the above symposium along with my esteemed colleagues Megan Johnston and Rachel Epp Butler.  We will be presenting at ‘Slow: A Symposium in Praxis & Theory’ hosted by Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) & Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts (MASS MoCA) in North Adams, MA! Our panel will address the importance of human connection through slow creativity. I hope you’ll join us if you’re in the area.  Link to symposium agenda here!

Note: Sorry I will miss you this year at Do the Dow

Terminal 2 installation this November!

Nearly 50 scrolls will be installed before security at MSP International Airport, Terminal 2! 16 new works were created and added to the scroll collection that traveled internationally. Seen at left, these new scrolls are a broader interpretation of the 122 Conversations artist project and encompass people's responses and experiences during the project. Represented here are the 5000 generous volunteers that offered their time and talents over the course of the project. These scrolls will be on display through 2020! I’d love to hear your responses to the airport installations!

I Love You Pop-Up

We will be hosting another pop-up on November 19 for my new artist initiative, the I love You Institute.  Collaborating with Ladona Tornabene, PhD., MCHES, University of Minnesota DuluthDepartment of Applied Human Sciences and her students, the I Love You Institute will host a pop up with the subject of gratitude at the student union November 19, from 2 -4 pm. Stop by if you’re in the area! Looking forward to seeing the amazing Alison Aune and her Art education students!
