The Way Ahead: Sustainable R&D Framework Needed to Address Essential Health Needs of Developing Countries 
At the 65th World Health Assembly (WHA) two weeks ago, Member States discussed recommendations by the WHO Consultative Expert Working Group (CEWG) on R&D financing and coordination. Agreement was reached on a way forward to strengthen the financing and coordination of R&D for health needs of developing countries, including consultations throughout the year ahead and pilot projects. Ahead of the WHA discussions, DNDi published a policy brief to relate the CEWG recommendations to its own ‘lessons learned’.

WHA Resolution: Next Steps  
DNDi strongly hopes that all relevant actors will contribute to national, regional, and international consultations in the coming months in order to concretely pave the way for a sustainable global R&D framework.
