DNDi Annual Report 2014
August 2015   |   View Online

Dear Colleague,

Greetings from DNDi!

It is my pleasure to share with you DNDi’s Annual Report for the year 2014, Partnerships to Bridge Innovation and Access. The year 2014 was witness to intense debates within the global public health community, stemming from crises such as antimicrobial resistance, hepatitis C, Ebola, and many other neglected diseases. For DNDi in particular, 2014 saw the transition of our two malaria projects – ASAQ and ASMQ, two WHO-recommended artemisinin-based combination treatments (ACTs) – to our longstanding partner, the Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV). We launched a new experiment in multilateral drug screening, the NTD Drug Discovery Booster, joined in the launch of the Paediatric HIV Treatment Initiative, and bolstered activities within the Global Chagas Disease Coalition. Important milestones were achieved in several clinical trials as well, such as the successful completion of patient recruitment in the fexinidazole pivotal study for sleeping sickness in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

I hope you enjoy the detailed updates on all of our projects and activities, and hope to see you soon at the upcoming European Congress on Tropical Medicines and International Health (6-10 September 2015), where DNDi and partners will be present in over 10 oral sessions, several posters, and at our booth. We will also be presenting the new DNDi Business Plan for the years 2015 to 2023.

On behalf of the entire DNDi team, I want to thank you for your collaboration and support, and for helping us to bring the best science to the most neglected patients.
Best regards,

Dr Bernard Pécoul
