Let the yarn do the work with Noro yarns and Kits!

Noro is one of those yarns that looks incredible no matter what you make with it!
We love Noro yarns for their colors and texture and versatility.
Its classic self-striping colorways are always striking whether they are made into a scarf, a hat, a top or a blanket.
Right now we're excited to have some special kits available from Noro featuring their most popular yarns and patterns. The Hyacinth triangle shawl uses Silk Garden Lite and a textured stitch to make a shawl that's plush without being heavy.
Blankets are always incredibly beautiful made from Noro.

The Noro Heart Blanket combines colorwork and Noro Kureyon's self-striping colors to make a really graphic and beautiful statement.

If you love the look but aren't sure about colorwork, there are two other blanket kit choices you can choose from as well!
The Two Way top uses Noro's self-striping colorways to great effect! It's a simple garter-stitch knit but with some unusual construction.
Want to pick your own project and yarn combo? We've got lots of Noro yarns available on the website, from cotton blends like Akari and Geishi to long-time favorite wools like Kureyon, Ito or Silk Garden.

Tara recently knit this Nightshift shawl using Noro Akari in colors 5 & 16 - Akari's light cotton blend makes this a great all-season project, and we love that it takes just 2 balls!

If you are fortunate enough to have spare resources right now, and choose to order these yarns at no or a lower discount, we will be taking the percentage you would have saved and donating it to an Austin-based charity focused on helping those members of our community that are most severely affected by the current crisis.

You can read about our chosen charity on the Apart Together page of our website.

Last week you donated $628.83 for Austin-based COVID-19 relief!
In total we have raised $3661.32 so far!

Knitting and most crafts are meditative by nature as they encourage you to focus on the present moment and keep a clear mind. Although knitting, crochet, weaving and spinning are generally considered low-impact, the repetitive movements associated with these crafts can cause injuries over time.

In this class you will learn meditation, simple streatches, breating exercises, and self massage techniques designed to enhance your crafting. No matter your skill level, these practices can help you craft for longer. All movements can be made while sitting in a chair or while standing and holding onto a chair for support. Class activites are accessible to all fitness levels.

4/27 Store Update:
We have decided not to open our shop to foot-traffic yet.

We want to be sure that we are providing the safest possible environment to both our customers and staff when we do re-open our storefront. We will be taking some time to ensure that we are able to accomplish this when we do welcome you back to the shop.

We will be continuing our Curbside and Delivery services in the meantime - if you want to pick from several yarns in person we are happy to bring choices out onto the porch for you to decide from.

Please know that we are looking forward to seeing you all again.
-All of us at Hill Country Weavers

The Menchaca storefront is closed.

The store front will be closed until we are able to assure a safe shopping environment for customers and staff. If you have requested any orders for pickup and were unable to get by the shop, you can email us and we will mail your order to you instead.
Online Orders & Shipping

We will still be shipping and fulfilling online orders, monitoring emails and phone calls. As much as possible we will still be trying to ship orders within 2 business days, but please bear with us as we adapt to the changing situation.

We have lowered our free-shipping for any orders on our website to $40 for shipments within the US and are offering curbside pickup for local customers.

If you wish to be notified should any camps go ahead, please email us and we can put you on a contact list.

Finishing Work for Renate

Currently Renate will still be picking up and dropping off finishing work at the shop on Mondays. If you have a piece that needs finishing work, there will be a dropbox on the front porch where you can leave it. Drop offs for finishing need to occur between 12 noon and 5pm Monday through Saturday only - someone will be at the shop during these times for inventory maintenance and deliveries so we can hand-off your finishing work for her.
